Campaign Story
* Typical cost of capstone projects (including registrations, travel and supplies) is about $1200.
* I am trying to raise $600 as family and school will cover the rest.
Goals for My Fundraiser:
Supporting my capstone project
*** I plan to pursue the project though participation in TSA activities like competitions and community service. ***
The Technology Student Association (TSA) is a national Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) that helps students explore STEM through hands-on projects, competitions, and leadership opportunities.
What is ‘Sports Psychology & Family Wellness Symposium’
A symposium that brings together experts in sports psychology, family wellness, and youth development to promote holistic growth and improved child welfare.
Why I am pursuing this project (My why)
- I am a ‘Engager’ personality type person with strong ‘advocate’ business potential.
- I’m super into sports therapy and coaching, especially when it’s all about helping kids grow and work as a team. So, I’ve decided to work on this cool project as a sports psychologist to help athletes stay healthy and get better. My goal? To make a difference in kids’ lives by encouraging them to grow both personally and spiritually..
My plan of action: Competitions and Activities
Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) to join:
TSA – Technology Student Association, the primary CTSO that fosters leadership, innovation, and teamwork through technology-focused competitions and projects.
FBLA – Future Business Leaders of America, which offers opportunities in developing business acumen, public speaking, and networking skills relevant to advocacy and project management.
Competitions
This introductory competition fosters creativity in communication and storytelling, enabling the student to explore topics related to sports psychology and family wellness through the medium of audio.
FBLA – Client Service
This introductory competition emphasizes interpersonal skills and client interaction which are essential for creating supportive environments at events like the Sports Psychology & Family Wellness Symposium.
This introductory competition challenges the student to rapidly produce creative visual content that can promote and provide a snapshot of the upcoming symposium, blending technology with storytelling.
This advanced competition leverages strategic planning and analysis skills, which are crucial for designing and executing a successful symposium focused on sports psychology and family wellness.
Community Service:
Family Wellness Workshop
Why it fits: This activity directly engages the community in themes of sports psychology and family wellness, providing a platform to apply skills learned from competitions in a real-world setting.
Implementation: The workshop will be hosted at a local community center in zip code 30281. It will include interactive sessions, expert talks, and wellness activities designed to encourage family engagement and community well-being.
Skills Development: Public speaking, event management, community engagement, leadership
